• Please note that signatures and avatars on iLounge are only available after reaching certain membership thresholds.

    Signatures

In order to be able to have a signature, users must have been a member for 7 days and have accumulated 10 posts.

    Avatars

Avatars are reserved for only the most senior of iLounge forum members. Users will not be able to use an avatar until they have been a member for a minimum of one year, and accumulated 1,500 posts. This is considered the Veteran Lounger level of membership.

    A note on post whoring...

We welcome and encourage our members to make valuable and useful contributions to the iLounge forums, and to have fun, socialize, and actively participate in discussions on the forums. However, as per the Forum Policy, we will not tolerate excessive and unnecessary posting. Posting inane and pointless messages solely to increase one's post count in the hopes of reaching a higher membership level will be dealt with by the forum staff. Unnecessary posts may be subject to removal, and persisting in this behaviour will result in post counts being reduced and any further action being taken as deemed necessary.

  • With the number of recent threads from brand new users that we have observed in our Classifieds forum selling goods under questionable circumstances, we have instituted a new policy restricting new members of iLounge from posting new threads in the Classifieds forum until they have reached "Regular Member" status.

New users become Regular Members once they have made 10 posts and been a member of the iLounge Forums for at least 7 days. Prior to this time, members may still read the Classifieds forum, and even respond to existing threads for items being sold by other members, but they may not create new threads advertising their own items for sale.

This will hopefully help to protect our user community by discouraging fraudulent users from signing up and posting classified ads without having at least a very basic level of established membership in our forums.

Obviously all users should still exercise due diligence when making use of our classifieds forums, but we hope that this restriction will help to decrease the number of blatantly fraudulent ads that we have been seeing in recent weeks.

Please be sure to review our Classified Forum Policy for more information.

Right hand ads are obscuring parts of posts and pms.

Images are now missing from my FAQ sticky thread in Books and Spoken Word Forum.

New Layout is better, but I also think that the quote / reply buttons should be a tad shorter (the text can be just as big, just shrink the padding a tad) and that the online/offline icon looks better by the username.

Josh

Edit: Yay.. just figured out a way to hide the sidebar with adblock. Perfection!

I like the new look, and the thread display modes look cool too...............

You'll get the full 2 thumbs up when the new posts tab is up.

I'm going to be adding that to the "quick links" menu soon.

For now, there's a button near the top left of the forums homepage.

More simple yes but at the expense of losing main buttons and having to open quick links everytime... no.

lose the quote, quick reply and post your reply button looks.

View new posts?

Other than that... it's better than before. Maybe the threads I post it will actually start showing up on my User CP now too instead of me having to subscribe.

It looks really cluttered, and is obnoxiously hard on the eyes.
I agree. The color scheme is very harsh. I can't stare at this for much longer. Perhaps in a new upgrade we can have an array of skins to choose from, like in other VBulletin forums. This color scheme is way too light for my eyes.

But the other changes are okay.:)

What I said earlier about the bottom part being missing (everything below and including the Post New Reply button) is still happening. This is in Opera. It will just not show, then if I refresh it will, or sometimes I'll have to refresh a second time. It's pretty annoying to have to scroll up every time I want to go to the next page or post a reply. The quick reply box doesn't work either.

What version of Opera, and are you using any ad blockers or other browser add-ons?

Opera 8.54 on SuSE Linux. Nothing special about it though. I'll take a screenshot next time it happens (it's off and on.)

edit: Here's a screen: http://i3.tinypic.com/wl2m3q.png

Also, no ads... Not that I mind, but they should be there, yes?

edit2: Sorry to make you guys get out the old browsers... I meant that the quick reply box just didn't show up. When it does it works just fine.

I don't mind letting my browsers out for a bit of exercise - the QR box showed up in all of them first time JFYI :)

Also allowed me to update Shiira - they now have a Widget browser "Shiira mini".....
