"Failed to install GEARAspiWDM service"

I had Itunes 4.6 working Windows XP Pro with SP2. I installed itunes 4.7 and at end of install I get the following errors.

Error connecting to Service Manager. Error number = 0

Failed to install GEARAspiWDM service

itunes was removed by the 4.7 installer and I now get same error from 4.6 install.

I have tried the grear tools from the gear site.

They were of no help. Any ideas??
