Emails not showing

I have two email accounts on my Ipad mini,Outlook and Virginmedia.Never had any problems
until today.The email icon on the desktop shows 19 emails but when I call them up the screen
goes blank then straight back to the desktop,tried numerous times but no joy,even closing down
and turning on again doesn`t work.Can anyone help?

I am assuming you are using the built in Mail app for iOS.

You don't say what model of iPad Mini or version of iOS. Not sure what to assume.

It seems that you tried the restarting the app and the iPad Mini with no help.

Assuming you know the passwords to these accounts, have you tried going into Settings->Mail->Accounts selecting 1 account scroll to the bottom and tap sign out. Then try to open the Mail app to see if it can successfully open. If it does, than that account was the problem.

If the Mail app continues to crash, then sign out of the other account. Opening the Mail app at this point should ask you to set up an account.

Try re-adding the account back in and see if the Mail app can open or not. Perhaps the server settings were out of date, and you needed the new ones to connect.
