hey guys,

ive been looking around for a simple way to change the video fiels type to tv show so it shows up properly in my ipod, however so far i havent been able to find one.

i did however find atomic parsley (recommended by people on here) but it was command line and took too much effort to change each of my files details in it, so i fired up vb6 and made my own basic gui for it.

At the moment im afraid it is VERY basic, in that you can only edit the attributes of files which are in the same directory as the program (need to add ability to edit ones outside).

(im not responsible for any adverse effects it may have, you use it at your own risk yadda yadda yadda)

(it wont let me post rapid share url :()

also, the file which has the updated info in is the name of your file + temp + random numbers, this is so it doesnt over write the old file incase anything goes wrong your old files arent lost :)

ok, it is much better now, you can add any files to the list to be done, the resultant file will be outputted to the same directory as original file.

the program works like a treat, just used it for the first series of lost to put on my ipod :)

Intructions:

click file->open, select a file to turn into a tv file
edit textboxes and put in relevant information
click add

repeat process for all episodes

click 'apply'

the program will now go through all episodes in the list and output the new files into the same directory as old files.

(to remove a file you dont want to convert any more, doublt click on it on the list)

(bah, still wont let me post url to it :(, can a mod let me post the url or something? or i will pm it to anyone who wants the url)

Found one bug, When it writes the batch file it doesn't put quotation marks round the Show Name, so it just writes the first word eg. Family instead of Family Guy. Otherwise its good

ok, fixed that bug, also added that the files now get the title of the episode name.

Since you can't post the URL, can you PM the URL to the updated file as you fix the bugs?

So far, this works really well. Thanks for your efforts.

To post it, just remove the http:// and maybe www from the link.

I.e. http://www.example.com would become just example.com or www.example.com. You won't have to worry about this at all once you hit 20 posts I think.

Or just do hxxp://www.example.com. So long as the link parser doesn't parse it.

Also, if you need a HTTP mirror for it, let me know.

Works great! Just tagged season 5 of Family Guy.

However, i have some requests.

Add a "title" field. Some episodes have titles to them and i'd like to update them while i update the rest of the tag.

IE:
TV Network: Fox
Show Name: Family Guy
TV Episode: 501
Episode#: 1
Season#: 5
Title: Peter's God Wood

Next, instead of creating a new file like
filename-temp-randomnumber.mp4

is it possible to simply have an output directory?

thanks.
