Hi everyone - sorry about the length of the post
I bought the ipod video about 6 weeks ago... but after i read it scrathced so easily i decided to keep it in its box to keep it safe - some called me crazy. but its a small price to pay for going around with a scrathless ipod... of course it was a little anoying trying to squeesze the carboard packing into my backpocket.
after a fews weeks thought i decided to removie it from the packageing... but i kept the dont steal music label on - even though it made the screen virtually unreadable i had to prioritise here... it also covered the bottom so i couldnt charge it up - but i showed it off and thats what counts right?
that fell off last week, and i thought to myself perhaps eveyone on these forums are over reacting - it cant actually scratch as easy as they say can it?
Stupid me.. What did I do? Thats right, I breathed in the general direction of my ipod - thats right - a sharp exhale can leave multiple hairline scratchs on your ipod. So after about 2 seconds of carefull deliberation i popped into by local apple shop and demanded a replacement - the apple employee put up a little bit of a fight so i just threw my ipod at him and grabbed two ipod boxs off the nearest shelf - so now i have two ipods.
but i wont open them - they might get scrathed.
I learnt my lesson. And i hope all my fellow podders who complain about hairline scratchs can follow my example and do the right thing. Keep your ipod in its origional packaging - otherwise you might actually get some use out of it - or perhaps get a few hairline sratches.
