I bought the 1 Gig shuffle for my wife and tried it out tonight. The earphones that come with this are terrible. I'm looking for suggestions for alternatives that just sit in the ears like these do (as opposed to the nice pair I have that have foam inserts and require some effort to get a good fit). Thanks.

my favorite cheapy earphone of all time is the Sony MDR-W08.
They're $10 on Amazon.

I travel a LOT for work, and cheap earphones provide me with reassurance:
If they get broken in my bag it's no big loss.
If they get stolen from my room, no big deal.
and
I don't worry about getting them sweaty if I'm jogging.

I like the sound quality, fitment, and value.

If you're looking for high dollar audiophile 'phones, I'm not the person to ask.

I have always used the headphones that crumpler is referring to, and I loved them.

However, I got a set of ILuv headphones, and they are great! Rubber padding for the ear inserts, ear clips, and a volume adjuster on the headphone wire (this is a huge + for me). For only $5 more than the Sony ones, you can't go wrong.

Both are good picks.

We agree sony mdr-w08 are great. We think sonxtronic xdr-8000 are even better and you can still get these.
