The US apple page for tech specs on the ipod

http://www.apple.com/ipodclassic/specs.html

down on the comparison chart, it says the 80gb has 30 hours and the 160gb has 40 hours.

On the Canadian version though-->

http://www.apple.com/ca/ipodclassic/specs.html

down on the comparison chart, it says the 80gb has 40 hours and 160gb has 30 hours (switcharoo). Is this a typo? Or do Canadian ipods somehow get their ipod battery lives switched for mysterious political reasons..

Looks like a typo. In the keynote, steve jobs said the 80gb will get 30 hours, and the 160 gb will get 40 hours, so I'd go with that.

Plus they all come from the same place regardless of where they are being sent.
I doubt they have a storage pile of iPods for each country.

160 should last longer than the 80, bigger unit means bigger/better battery. Look at the 80GB vs 30GB 5.5G for instance.

Dang, u broke my theory :D OK, fall-back reason - Canada's colder climate makes the difference. ;)
