Judging by your tastes, I would recommend:
Ghoti Hook - Songs We Didn't Write (album of covers, sorta punky)
Shadows Fall - Welcome to the Machine (metal cover of pink floyd's song)
Billy Idol - Mony Mony, Dancing With Myself (if you like one Billy, you'll probably like them all)

and maybe:
Six Feet Under - Jailbreak (death metal cover of a Thin Lizzy song)

I'll post some more when I get back home to my itunes computer. I put the original artist name and the word cover in parantheses in the comment section of my tags. This way I have a playlist that searches for the word 'cover' in the comments, giving me an all covers playlist. Good stuff.

By the way, how did you make that list?

Johnny Cash - One (original: U2)
The White Stripes - Jolene (orginal: Dolly Parton)

Those are the first two I can come up with because I really thought the y improved the original :)

Hey, Darunia, that was one of mine too! - Jolene, by the White Stripes. If you want a more countrified cover of the same song, Mindy Smith's version is also okay.

Another great cover song from this year is the Postal Service's rendition of Phil Collins' (?) Against All Odds - It's on the Wicker Park Soundtrack.

The "I Am Sam" soundtrack is a whole album of basically good Beatles covers, but from your list, you don't seem like much of a Beatles guy, huh. Well, one never knows.

Oh, I also like the Corrs cover of "Everybody Hurts." Dashboard Confessional has one too. But I love that song, so a dying cow could do a cover and I'll probably like it.

I don't even like John Mayer. But I love his cover of Radiohead's Kid A. It's such a good cover of the song. I also love when Radiohead covers other songs. It's funny, but really cool. Like when Thom Yorke sings "Winter Wonderland."

I love that cover of Wonderwall. I totally forgot about it, so thank you for reminding me, because it is hilarious. What does Thom say at the end, "it's always good to make fun of Oasis" or something like that? Great, I love it.

I've updated the list of covers that I have. I'd like to thank those of you that gave me some suggestions that I could actually find. I've also found some at the podcast I just subscribed to, Coverville

WoW CrzyCanuck, that's a great list! Where did you find "Kid A" at?

I like this thread, it's giving good reference's for songs to download. ;)
