As the subject says, I want to copy songs from itunes to a thumb drive. Have done lots of research on this board and the net and the general advise is to open both thumb drive (via windows explorer) and itunes then just drag songs from itunes to the thumb drive. Problem is my system will not let me have both of these screens open at the same time. Am using Windows 10. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Would not like to use any second party software if possible.

Thanks in advance for the advice

Sure you can have both windows open at the same time. It may be easier to use the Desktop version of iTunes available from Apple
64bit version (most systems): https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win64
32bit version (old and cheap systems): https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/win32

The Microsoft Store version https://apple.co/ms may be more difficult to use with the Universal Windows Platform rules of behavior, but I would think it could also run in windowed mode (where you can see other windows).

Usually there are 3 buttons in the top right corner. Clicking on the middle one (which is either a single square or a double overlapping squares) changes the window from full screen mode (double overlapping squares) to windowed mode (single square). If the button is a single square and still filling the screen, move the mouse to the far left (or right) until it changes into a horizontal double arrow (one side might be off the screen) then click and drag the edge of iTunes to make it smaller. Adjust so the songs you want to select are visible.

Then open Windows Explorer with the thumb drive selected and resize it to be smaller and to the side of iTunes. Then drag and drop.
