Is it gonna damage my iPod? I look at the power of my USB 1.1 port and it say "500 mA per port", does the number enough to charge my iPod without any problem?

I asked the guy at the store that i bought my iPod, he said USB 1.1 won't allow iPod to finish charging and will stop working eventually, is it true? :(

The only difference between USB 1.1 and 2.0 is data transfer speed. If it is a desktop computer, it will probably charge it just fine.
