I have a dock that charges my iPod video and connects to my stereo amplifier and speakers.
I have been leaving my iPod in the dock, which means it's constantly being kept at a full charge. Might this cause problems with the battery life?

No, the iPod stops charging once the battery is at full charge. It wouldn't hurt to run it though a charge cycle about once a month. You don't need to completely discharge it, just play the iPod for a few hours with the charger disconnected and then recharge it.
