• With the number of recent threads from brand new users that we have observed in our Classifieds forum selling goods under questionable circumstances, we have instituted a new policy restricting new members of iLounge from posting new threads in the Classifieds forum until they have reached "Regular Member" status.

New users become Regular Members once they have made 10 posts and been a member of the iLounge Forums for at least 7 days. Prior to this time, members may still read the Classifieds forum, and even respond to existing threads for items being sold by other members, but they may not create new threads advertising their own items for sale.

This will hopefully help to protect our user community by discouraging fraudulent users from signing up and posting classified ads without having at least a very basic level of established membership in our forums.

Obviously all users should still exercise due diligence when making use of our classifieds forums, but we hope that this restriction will help to decrease the number of blatantly fraudulent ads that we have been seeing in recent weeks.

Please be sure to review our Classified Forum Policy for more information.

as everyone already knows, september 5th is the big day. but i was wondering how long after the unveiling of the new iPod we will see it in stores and be able to purchase it? how long has it been in the past when new iPods were released, since this is probably the best indicator? also, there is an apple store not too far from where i live. when new iPods are released, do they usually show up in the apple stores first, then the other retailers like Best Buy and Circuit City? this is going to be my first iPod purchase, so i am very excited :D

First of all welcome to ilounge!

In the past apple has released the products that they announce either the day of or a couple days after the announcement. I would think that they would arrive at both the apple store and retailers at the same time, since the products will be shipping from the same place.

Especially since it is later in the year and getting close the holiday season apple would want to get the new products out as soon as possible. Hope you like your new iPod, I know I will!:D

welcome to ipod lounge. Please before starting a new thread read more recent threads first. There is in fact one somebody started about 4 or 5 down called availabilty and your question was answered. But if youre too lazy to look they will probably be there the same day. :)

Apple retail stores will be the first retail markets to get the new iPods. It may take some time for stores like Best Buy and Circuit City to get them in. Your best bet is to simply order it off of Apple's website if you don't have an Apple store near you. Also keep in mind that many college campus book stores have a quasi-Apple store in them. You can often go put your name down on a new iPod as they will tell you just how many they are getting. That is how I got my 5G iPod. I went down to my University's book store and put my name on a black 5G 60GB iPod before they arrived in the stores. They will even call you whenever it is available to pick up.
