Ok so I resolved my issues with the ATV - was a non-issue as Airplay can stream Apple music from iTunes on my PC or my iPhone as well as my library of ripped and purcahsed songs.

Problem is my computer, has crashed several times (BSOD) in fact just a black screen which forces me to reboot, which it has been extremely rare even though it is an old computer (HP Desktop running windows 7). I've only gotten these crashes since running my Apple TV streaming on airplay, usually after some time.

I thought it might be running hot and cleaned out my system but it happened again - and I ran it all night last week to check my hard drive and anti-virus.

Here is the error message FWIW.

I have never heard of AirPlay causing BSOD. Searching on the web has provided no real connection there either. My past experience streaming to Boxee and iPhones has had not shown this issue.

If I had to guess, I would check your network card driver to see if there is an update needed.
