With the news that Apple intend stopping iTunes in the future I wondered where, or even if I can, move my library too another media. Given that I've over 1300 albums this is somewhat important. Also where ever I move it too will that service recognize my iPod?

We don't know yet.

I would expect that there would be a new Music app. Podcast app and Videos app for Windows (like the new macOS) or iTunes will remain in it's current form on Windows, like the older macOS.

From what I understood, all the music functions currently in iTunes will remain - playlists, smartplaylists and current libraries. You will be able to buy and download from the iTunes music store, or rip CDs (does anyone still do that I wonder?) and also subscribe to Apple music if you wish.

Syncing and backups will be done through the finder now - which makes sense I suppose.
