• With the number of recent threads from brand new users that we have observed in our Classifieds forum selling goods under questionable circumstances, we have instituted a new policy restricting new members of iLounge from posting new threads in the Classifieds forum until they have reached "Regular Member" status.

New users become Regular Members once they have made 10 posts and been a member of the iLounge Forums for at least 7 days. Prior to this time, members may still read the Classifieds forum, and even respond to existing threads for items being sold by other members, but they may not create new threads advertising their own items for sale.

This will hopefully help to protect our user community by discouraging fraudulent users from signing up and posting classified ads without having at least a very basic level of established membership in our forums.

Obviously all users should still exercise due diligence when making use of our classifieds forums, but we hope that this restriction will help to decrease the number of blatantly fraudulent ads that we have been seeing in recent weeks.

Please be sure to review our Classified Forum Policy for more information.

Does anyone who still owns one use their iMac G3 on a daily basis? I did before the internet sharing stopped working. Something with DHCP and my Mac mini not liking each other... My iMac G3 is a 350MHz with OS X 10.3.9.

I actually have two and use neither.
One has a bad crt and the other I just can't really be bothered with.
I have more classic macs than I do any computer in my house.
Mostly from finding them in the trash :$

My parents regularly used an iMac G3 and an ancient Mac IIvx for the last six years... until two days ago, when I bought them a new 20" iMac for their wedding anniversary. They love the new iMac and are quickly learning the ins and outs of Leopard.

I've got the old iMac G3 and IIvx back at my place now. I'll set up the iMac in the rec room for casual web surfing when the family is over for get-togethers. The IIvx is a bit of history (it was my "high-end workstation" back in 1992), so it'll go into storage.

Ooh...you beat me by -><- this much! Oldest one I've got still running is a Quadra 605 ;-)
My oldest still-running Mac is the Mac 128K that my parents bought for Christmas 1984. According to the serial number, it was the 6127th Mac ever built. I was in high school at the time and had mostly been using Apple IIs, so the graphical interface and mouse were real eye-openers.

I start it up once in a while just to make sure it's okay. System 0.97 is a real blast from the past, I can assure you. :)

LOL! My first was a 512K, quickly followed by a Plus, an SE, and an SE/30. AFAIK, all are still running fine....as MacQuariums ;-)

Favorite systems: 6.0.7, 7.1.2, 8.1.1

Least favorite: 6.0.6 -- got one f the few released copies with a new IIsi, and was too scared to try it....frustrating/tempting to wait 3 days for replacement ;-)
