Is there any album (not playlist) on your iPod that actually has nothing but 5 star tracks. I don't have one but Master of Puppets comes close. All 5 star except for orion (4star).

Good albums aren't about good songs, they're about a good package. Lateralus by Tool is absolutely incredible, but there are filler ambience tracks which don't detract from it's overall genius.

In fact I own very few albums that follow a template of 'chuck in 14 good songs and be done with it'.

For the most part I agree. There are a lot of albums that have lots of "pretty good" songs, but makes for a great album when its all put together. There are some albums where I really like most of the songs, but really hate a few! I still consider those good albums..I just don't rip those few.

I was just checking and I have no fivestars... I think I must have changed them to fours by accident. Dang. I know Abbey Road was though, and the White Album comes close, except for USSR and Ob-La-Di...

I'm not a big fan of Metallica. But I think Orion is one of the best tracks on Master Of Puppets. Even though it's an instramental piece of music.

Lol, The reason that track got a 4 in my eyes was that it was far to repetitive and had no lyrics to keep my intrest. If a song is repetitve melodicly it should have a story to follow.

While I have several favorite albums, I don't think there's any one that has ALL five stars. But then again, I give out five-star ratings sparingly. Out of about 2400 tracks, only 94 have *****. For me, a song has got to be so good to warrant five stars, that I can listen to it any time, any mood, over and over again...

Albums that come close though are:

Transatlanticism - Death Cab for Cutie
Picaresque - The Decemberists
Abbey Road - The Beatles
Aqualung - Aqualung
In the Aeroplane Over the Sea - Neutral Milk Hotel

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon & Meddle
Nirvana - Nevermind & In Utero
Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited & The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
The Tragically Hip - Day For Night & Yer Favourites Box Set
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper & Abbey Road

That's it out of almost 4,000 Songs!

Nope.. but the closest are:

Aqualung - Aqualung
Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
Derek Webb - Mockingbird (only one song that isn't.. and it's probably a 4.5 star ;) )
Anna Nalick - Wreck of the Day
Jars of Clay - Jars of Clay
Lifehouse - Stanley Cimbfall
Mae - The Everglow

All of those are all 5 stars with the exception of one or two four stars. But then again, its not hard for a song to get four stars.

Sublime - 40 oz. to Freedom
- Bradley Nowell and Friends Acoustic
- Memories (Bootleg)

Those are the only three albums that I can say every single song is a five star song.

I haven't had any that were all 5-star or close to it as I'm really reserved in my 5-star ratings.

But some albums that that would be close if I didn't use my system would be...

The Mars Volta - Frances The Mute
Nirvana - Nevermind
NWA - Straight Outta Compton
Lower Class Brats - A Class Of Our Own
System of a Down - Mezmerize
