I have only 81 songs and 54 podcasts on my 4th generation iPod; It should only be using a "sliver"of my storage..... However, 1/2 of my storage is being used. I ran a smart playlist, and I see that I have about 190 old podcasts in my iTunes Library. How do I get rid of these old podcasts? I've already listened to them....I want them gone.

Anyone, ideas? Thanks so much.

Select the podcasts in your Smart Playlist, (CTRL-A will select all) then hold Shift and press Delete. Say yes to send to Recycle Bin, empty recycle bin.

You may also want to go to the Podcasts section (Ctrl-S) to show Sidebar, click on Podcasts. Then click Settings, set Delete Played Episodes to On. That should delete them automatically as you finish them.
