My 1st Gen iPod WILL NOT go into Disk Mode. Also After my iPod charges for hours when I un plug it it says there is no battery power remaining......... Also it has a BRAND NEW battery. Does my iPod have a FireWire problem. If so, how do I fix it.

I have an avi file that takes 18 hrs. to convert using 1 pass H.264. Wht does it take so long? What can I do to speed up the process? PS This is with Videora, which usually takes the length of the movie to convert using same settings. The movie is like 1.5 hrs. It will not convert using MPEG-4.

I have 1G iPod and it wont go into disk mode. When I plug it in it restarts and freezes at the apple logo. It does this forever and overheats. Then when I unpluhg it, iot starts up like normal. O and it will still charge. What wrong with it?
