Try dragging-and-dropping the video your iTunes window. I have never been able to add any content to my iTunes library by click on File, then Add to library through iTunes. For some reason, it has just never worked on my notebook. Dragging-and-dropping the file into iTunes works though.

I have dozens of videos over 1 gig in my iTunes, all added by drag&drop.
The only thing i noticed is that iTunes won't accept very long filenames when drag&dropping them.

I have the same problem as the op. My filenames are short, the files relatively small (30mb or so) and I've uploaded files all exactly like them before, but now for some reason iTunes just refuses to accept them (it doesn't even give an error message, the window just comes to the front with no progress). It's extremely frustrating :@

Is there an alternative PC program I can use for uploading videos to my iPod? I am fairly certain this is just apple trying to screw over it's consumers to force them to pay for videos via iTunes store. Personally, I'll just boycott apple if that's what they're doing.

I'm having the same problem. I am trying to upload some video that I shot myself and it won't work. I'm having the same problems that were described above.

Have a solution, don't know if it works for everyone but here goes.. (first post, hope it helps)

iTunes doesn't accept files other then MPEG media files. To find out what format your vids are in i suppose you know, right-click and hit properties and you'll see it there. you'll need to convert your files to MPEG format to drag-drop.

guys..i'm a new user for itunes since i got ipod touch as a gift 2 days back..i'm facing the same problem and getting irritated everytime i try this...i found it supports MP4, MPEG, MPG, MOV files formats..but all my movie collection are in AVI and WMV file formats..as a new user i doubt whether itunes never supports avi, wmv formats or its a recent troblem..is there any better solution than converting the file formats???
