How to hardsub MP4 video?

I have some foreign language avi videos with srt subtitles, and I would like to hard sub them and encode them to MP4.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I currently use Videora.

Thanks

i've never met such pro, but try WinAVI Video Converter 3.0 and Xilisoft Video COnverter. i'm using the latter one currently. Search in google.

I managed to hardsub avi using VirtualDub and a VobSub plugin filter. Though I still have to re-encode the hardsubbed avi(divx) to MP4 using Videora afterwards. Guess it is a way round for the moment. Ideally I'd like to directly hardsub to H.264 MP4 for iPod.

There is a list of formats you can save the new hardsubbed video to in VirtualDub, but no iPod compatible H.264. Anyone know how to include the codec? Or where to get it from to include in VirtualDub?

1. Don't use divx, xvid does a better job and is free.
2. As long as the vid is 2500 kbs max and is sp (no b frames or gmc or anything like that) and not asp, you can use yamp to mux the video with an aac file in to a mp4 file.
