Assuming you want to plumb your iPod into your car stereo, you would need pre-in's. The pre-out's are to connect to another power amp to drive extra speakers or sub.

Hi,
I have a Kenwood CD player also, though it's a bit older (KDC-6011). I found out that Kenwood made a special adapter that turns the CD-Changer port on the back on the unit into an AUX-in port for RCA cables.
If your unit has that round port on the back (and doesn't already use a CD changer) then you should go for it. I'm in process of hooking it up now:
Part number:
CA-C1AUX

Yup the CA-C1AUX works perfectly with my iPod and with the Belkin Autokit makes for a really clean perfect solution.

The only thing I miss is seeing what track is playing right on the CD player, oh well, no biggie. How cool would it be if someone made a headunit that you could slide the iPod right into a slot and all the ID3 info and track info and interface was available on the CD player?

Now THAT'S something I would install in a heartbeat!
