what is that cable that comes out the bottom? does that also make sound go to the speakers?
You mean the white cable hooked up to the iPod? That's Belkin Auto Kit's cable which provides power to the iPod and audio output for the stereo.

I updated the page with two pictures of Belkin Auto Kit.

I still haven't figured out the way to mount iPod and iPAQ at the same time. Maybe I'll update this page when I find the way to do that.
I used Arkon model CM624

It should fit onto your current pedestal.
Thanks for the suggestion, dekkerd. I was looking at that. Do you know how big/tall that is? What is the length from the hole on the back, where you slide the pedestal, to the top of the unit? As you can see in my pictures, the space over my cup holders is not very much and limited. Maybe I have to go with their gooseneck pedestal.

2 inches from the hole to the top of the holder, add another 1/4 inch to the top of the iPaq(3900 series). The unit is 9 inches wide. The gooseneck mount is a good choice, that's what I used. Of course, my truck's has a little more room inside...
