transpod II and buzzing noise

i've actually had my ipod for about 6 months now. within a week of buying it, i'd bought a stereo with a front aux jack. i've finally gotten tired of setting the ipod in my cupholder, so last week i ordered the transpod ii, as it was on sale @ everythingipod for $60 (down from $100). i LOVE the way it brings my ipod to a level where i can easily see track information, skip songs, etc... changing the song has become much less dangerous while driving. on the down side, there is a good deal of buzzing coming through the speakers when it's plugged into the cigarette lighter. soooo, i have 2 questions.

1.) is there any way to eliminate that buzzing noise? obviously its some sort of electrical noise (i hear a similar clicking when charging my ipod @ work w/the ac adapter), but i don't know how to suppress it. the transpod ii uses a male to male 1/8" cable.

2.) if there isn't any good way to do this, is there any sort of program that will boost the audio out level of the ipod? it seems like the interference is relatively constant... it will have the same volume if the ipod is set to min or max volume (given a constant volume on the head unit). i figure if i can increase the output level of the songs being played from the ipod, i could leave the stereo volume at a lower level, and the buzzing would be inaudible.

You need an Isolator. The background buzz is due to your lighter adapter not be grounded. This device gets rid of the buzz. You can get one at radio shack for 15 bucks. Here is a link to the item.
