Did you resolve this because i have the same problem ?
I also have this problem. When I upload to the ipod, it randomly just stops. I have tried reformatting and restoring multiple times, and I've tried using both ephpod and media center 9.0. I have windows xp and a third gen 15gig ipod. After managing to get one album onto the ipod, I took it with me to work and it crashed hard, forcing me to start it up while directly plugged into the wall.
Am I going to have to wait for a firmware update or something? Did apple test this thing out before saying it was supported by windows?
You are all either experiencing the problems with firewire cards that don't work well with the iPod....or the lame Apple software is interfering.
I suggest doing this little test. Uninstall the ipod software (all of it). Then uninstall the MMJB iPod Plugin.
Next, connect your iPod. Try copying a bunch of MP3s directly to the iPod. Like 50 or so through My Computer. See how that works. If it works fine, then you don't have a firewire issue.
If it doesn't swap out what you're using for a better card. Search the 'lounge for recommendations.
If that test worked fine. Try MC9, Xplay or ephpod, but don't install the Apple software. None of it is needed and it can cause problems.

Just installed a firewire card and ipod software. Had a few problems so I might have done something wrong but everything PC end seems fine now.
BUT When I try to add some music to the ipod and hit sync on music match, it says Operation Stopped. Disk is full. Even though there is nothing on it.
When I enable disk mode and try to drag files on to removable drive, it says Disk check Sum error. I can't uncheck the 'Enable Disk Mode' box, if I do it just turns back on again now.
Have I done something wrong, is the iPod Hard Disk broken.
Firewire says its working in Hardware section of PC and shows up as Apple iPod card. If it was a PC I'd just reformat the hard drive. Can I do this with the iPod? During installation it didn't try to format itself. But then PC crashed like 4 times and I got loads of errors on install. I have since rebotted everything and reinstalled all software but still get this problem.
Please help!
