128 bit Earphones
On my ipod, I encrpt all of my mp3's to play at 128KBPS. I know this isnt the best quality, but I really do like the amount of space on it. Ok, so i was thinking of getting the Shure E2's, but I wanted to know if the encryption I have will even be worth the price of the headphones. I was also thinking of getting the Sony White ones, and since those seem to be a bit more affordable, they seemed like a better option. Any help would definitly be appreciated!

in my opinion, it's always worth it to get nice cans. that being said, the point of spending money on nice cans is to get superior sound, and if you are encoding at 128, which to many is audibly worse than cd quality (mp3 closest to cd is 320kb/s) it might be a little much to spend on cans. of course, if you do buy nice cans, they arent only relegated to use on the pod (which is why nice cans are always worth something), but if you are just using them for the pod, i'd suggest you up your encoding (maybe a nice vbr setting) otherwise you'll have nice cans to listen to "low" quality... ha, might even make your mp3s sounds worse to you.

Well, the thing is I've got some 2000 songs on my iPod, and Im not about to go through ALL of my albums and re-encode them, so im stuck with 128. SO should I just stick with the sony's rather than spend money on the e2s?
