Got my shure E2's today...pics included
Wow, these Shure E2's sounds awesome! They come in 3 different sizes of foam and rubber plugs. I have to admit, they will take LOTS of getting used to. I am using the small foam buds, but the part that fits outside the cannal feels like a rock in my ear! I tried the rubber out and they are even worse. So I will just have to live with the foam. After a while though, my ears start to go numb from the pressure of the size. I did not like the yellow color of the foam so I colored it black with a permanant marker. Works perfet! Take a look...

I'd rather see a picture of your ears--aren't they stained black from the marker?
Here is one problem using the marker: I have found the best way to insert the foamies (courtesy of another podder whose name I can't remember off hand) is to moisten them before insertion--you get a better seal, and they're easier to insert....That's going to be a problem with all that black ink though. I love my Shure's--best isolating earbud for activity, IMHO.

It is a sharpie and is COMPLETELY dry. No black rubs off at all. I have even wet it and nothing comes off. Its soaked in good. Trust me.

Did you try any other colors, how did they hold up over the orange? I think blue or silver would look sweet on the e2s.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...I don't have a problem with the looks of the Shures. I'll admit the EX's are little bit better in the looks department, but are no comparison in the sound department....I'll take sound over looks any day; earbuds IMHO are not a fashion statement anyway...

Hmm..
the beauty of the iPod... should be matched with its components imo. One of the reasons i bought the Ipod - its looks. But yeah i can agree with you too, sound quality is the most important thing. Still, style isnt far behind for me
