I have a friend who is in Iraq (US Soldier). He brought his 20Gig Ipod in for peace of mind and to maintain some sanity however something happened to it and now it doesn't play. It is still under protection however he is afraid that by the time he gets back home it will not..

Does anyone know if Apple will help him out after the fact meaning I could let apple know by giving all of his info now and whenever he happens to get back have him submit the machine to them.
Any Advice? or is he out of luck??
