Need help with line out...
Hello. I just bought a new iPod a few weeks ago. My car has an aux-in wire which is just a simple 3.5mm headphone jack. I ran a 3.5mm wire from my iPod?s headphone jack into the car?s aux-in jack. The iPod plays when I put the headunit on aux mode. The only think bothering me is that I have to keep the volume on the iPod at about 80-90%. I think this is causing some distortion. I?ve searched through these forums for a while and learned some stuff but I?m still not too sure what to do. Should I use the line out from the Belkin Car charger or should I use the line out from the Dock and charge it with a Powerpod? From what I?m reading it sounds like it would sound the best if I used the Dock since the line out signal isn?t amplified. Am I right? I would be able to make it look much cleaner by using the Belkin charger w/audio. Thanks!

I forgot to mention, I have an Alpine amp & a JL sub for bass and the interior speakers are factory pre-amped (Harmon Kardon).

with your 3 options, i would first choose the line out from the dock, then the line out from the belkin charger, then the headphone out of the ipod. the line out from the dock will provide the cleanest signal.
