I am putting in a new system in my Silverado. I am replacing the deck and many of the speakers. I have been told that they only way to hardwire my iPod into my car would be to buy a deck with an AUX out. Then buy the RCA cords and the Belkin car adapter. Is there any way to Hardwire the iPod without the car adapter and without losing sound quality? I.E. Straight into the deck.

Just use a Sik iMP or Monster solution. You can also just mount your dock in there, but I don't know why. Check out the other Silverado installs in this forum - mine is one of them. I used the SiK and I'm very happy with it.

Well, I never have used one myself, but I have read that they do not have a straight line out - it is an amplified or perhaps attenuated line out - either way some circuitry in between the line out of the iPod and the line in on the head unit. Apparently that is enough to cause some problems for some people.

I know that listening to MP3s and AACs is somewhat tenuous anyway - some songs sound great at 160kbps, but some sound like cr@p. If you want true high fidelity, stick with your CD player. It probably doesn't make too much difference which charger you use, as no matter what you use there will be a certain amount of distortion anyway.

All I can say is that I am happy with the Sik iMP, and pretty happy with the iPod in the truck on the stock stereo. I drive with the windows down most of the time anyway, so I don't really notice any problems!
