Like the subject says, I can't stand the ipod mini belt clip. The hook catches on my belt/belt-loops and is practically impossible to pull off without practically crushing the aluminum case with a death grip.

Is there an alternative way to safely carry this?

it should fit nice and snug in any pocket. (not being sarcastic)

keeping it in a pocket -- what's to keep the buttons from getting pressed or the headphone plug from bending and breaking the delicate jack?

I had that exact same problem...it's was very hard pull off without worrying about getting the screen or aluminum deformed!


I sold the mini asap...and all problems are gone!

Um...well, if you click on the "hold" button, then it won't matter if the buttons are pressed. And really, I've had one in my pocket upright, that is, with the earbuds coming out of the pocket so they can be worn in my ear. And even sitting down the delicate jack hasn't been that delicate or that in danger of being snapped in two. Even when I leaned forward while seated.

But if that's really a problem, then perhaps you need to button your mini up in your shirt pocket, right over your heart, instead of slipping it into your pants pocket.

I was also concerned about having to squeeze the mini and the back of the belt clip to release it. My thought was that this continual squeezing of the top of the mini could contribute to the sound problems reported.

My solution is to slide the mini lower in the belt clip so that the top of the mini is even with the top of the parts that holds the mini by the edges. This leaves the actual clip mechanism mini free.

Not only do you not squeeze the mini, the clip mechanism is also easier to operate.
