hahahha somoene else try first, then i'll try ;D
I wouldn't be so worried. He is right, toothpaste is a wonderful fine-grade polishing rouge.
Just be sure not to get it into any crevices (ie around the buttons, etc) and to remove it thoroughly after you're finished.

never thought of toothpaste....i might try that
Does that work for the back.. for the iPod mini too?
Probably won't do very much for the chromed steel back. It is too fine. This would be a front polish only, more than likely.
Years ago (like 30 or so) toothpaste companies tried to outdo each other claiming they had more abrasives than Brand X toothpaste. And...they were right. Eventually, some people came forward claiming that this brand or that brand of toothpaste had removed portions of the enamel on their teeth. There were several lawsuits over it. So, these days toothpaste is far less abrasive on average than it once was.

I clean lots of things using toothpaste, including my iPod and my Trumpet.
SimonTemplar is right, dosent really do much to the back.
Works great on the screen.
rohit07, no reason why it shouldnt work on mini.
theres every reason why it shouldn't work on a mini, it hasn't got a plastic front has it?!
I just tried it - no luck - any specific tips on how to use the toothpaste?
I think you just gently rub it over the front of the ipod with a cloth or something.
Think sandpaper just a lot gentler, cause that is basically what the toothpaste will do - take a tiny bit of the plastic front off, thus making the scratches look the same as everything else...

ive seen numerous posts about getting scratches off the acryllic screen. People suggest using brasso or whatever it is. But instead of buying that stuff just use toothpaste. Toothpaste is a minor abrasive, which is party how it cleans your teeth. To get the scratches out of an ipod just squeeze some onto the ipod surface and take a microfiber cloth or a worn in t-shirt and start rubbing. It will take quite a bit of rubbing, as the toothpaste is very weak, but is better than something that might be too strong. Also leaves the ipod with a minty fresh smell!
