3.1.1 Jerky Podcast Scrolling

I have a 1G 32GB Touch. I've installed 3.1.1 and so far everything seems OK except scrolling the podcast list. It happens in the both the audio and video lists. It happens when I slowly scroll or flick the list up or down. (BTW, the video list has 5 items and audio list has 8 items) What's strange is that it's only the podcasts that do this. If I scroll the video list the tv shows section scrolls fine (it has 8 items) but when the podcast section appears the jerky scrolling starts.

Has anyone else seen this?

And no I haven't tried a restore yet.

Have you tried resetting it? (Holding down the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears on screen)

I've tried resetting serveral times. I removed and reloaded the all the podcasts and it actually seems worse than before.

I'll try a restore but this takes several hours to reload everything.

I notice this as well on my 1G touch. Apple has a few bugs to work out with podcasts and the playlists containing them. I also notice a pretty good delay in iTunes when selecting the Podcasts sync settings tab for any of my iPods. I get a little "beachball" action on my MacBook Pro, it may be a little dated as computers go, but it is far from under powered.

I believe the issue would get a little worse to begin with on the touch if you remove then re-add the podcasts and improve to the previous lag. This would be due to Spotlight, Apple's search feature, indexing the newly added files. Just my opinion, but they will improve it, probably just a few bug to work out before they get things right again.

I did a restore last nite and it didn't fix any of the problems. Oh well. Hopefully it won't take Apple months to fix the bugs.

Yes, count me in this as well. I am having the same issues. Scrolling in the podcast screen is VERY laggy.

Nothing works to fix this bug in 3.1 for the stutter scrolling of podcasts for the iPod.
Read the thread below at the apple forums. No one as been able to fix this. Apple hasn't said a word to acknowledge the issue and/or fix as yet.

Just adding my "me too". This is very annoying since I listen to podcasts a LOT.

I'm experiencing this as well, as well as the VERY annoying "updating library this may take a few minutes" bug after most syncs.

3.1.2 did NOT fix any of these issues. It's quite infuriating. I have a 2nd gen 32gb touch. "32gb" seems to come up a lot, is anyone experiencing these issues with lower memory models?

Yes, mine is 16 GB and you are right, the update did not fix the problem at all. I am also getting the library updating problem as well, but not after every sync.

Ok so it's not limited to 32gb model (that would have been weird).

I'm not getting the update library after every sync either, but at least every other time.

Hi, I had the same problem, deleted all the podcasts one by one from itouch, unsubscribed everything from itunes, then resubscribed and synched. This worked for me anyway. The "updating library" thing is still very very slow though.
