Ripping from CD - End of Song Clipped

I've recently switched to AAC 256k and have noticed 2 songs (out of approximately 250) that were clipped by a few seconds. When I compare the time on the CD (using iTunes) to the time of the ripped version, it's a few seconds shorter. The first time, I tried re-ripping the track - same results. Then, I re-ripped using Apple Lossless and achieved a track with the same time as the CD. To add to the confusion, I converted the Apple Lossless track to AAC 256k and did NOT lose the last few seconds.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

There's a bug in 7.6.1 that will clip the last seconds of the last song when you import a CD. Apple is working on a fix.
Workaround: import that song as AIFF and re-encode once in iTunes.

Having recently converted to an iPod owner I have been transferring my CD collection to iTunes.

I too have found that several of the tracks imported from CD's are clipped by about 4 secs. This only occurrs on the last track of an imported CD.

Shame, as I have found iTunes very useful in cataloguing my CD collection.

Hope the issue is fixed fairly soon.

Many different programs rip CDs to MP3s. And the huge lot of them are free. Using and external ripping program will add one additional step to getting them in iTunes but it's no big deal. Definitively better than having to live with that bug.
