someone asked this in the comments to the new ipod's release but i did not see an answer. in order to use an electronics device on an airplane you need to be able to turn off wi-fi. can you do this on the ipod touch? will the touch even be usable on a plane?

Yes, you can turn off WiFi (in the Apple specs page it says battery life is based on WiFi Seeking turned off).
