Wedding Crashers?

Hi all. I've converted most of my other dvd's with no problems, however every time I try Wedding Crashers around five or ten minutes in the audio gets out of sync. Anyone else had this problem?

I've even tried both the wide and full screen versions, but I am trying to convert the RATED version on the UNrated DVD.

Try using RipIt4Me on the guide to rip the DVD. You didn't mention what software you were using but I had that problem with using Videora when converting 'Alien vs Predator'. What I did to resolve the out of sync problem is posted here under 'AUDIO OUT OF SYNC WITH VIDEO PROBLEM'. You can use whatever conversion software your using to convert it from an .AVI file if you use this method. Try the first link 'Nicky Pages' first and see if that works.

I recently re-ripped and converted it using the newer settings (640x480) and I used DVDShrink + Nero and had no out of sync problem with the movie.

There is a type of DVD encryption that has a random 0 byte file I beleive they call it. This "0 byte" file will randomly kill the audio when ripping the occasional DVD that has this type of pretection.

Anyone know of a Mac version of the RipIt4Me software? I have to fire up my Windows PC when I run into this issue.

What exactly is RipIt4Me supposed to do/fix? I have SCOURED the net for an answer to this and all I found were answers on how to rip/convert/watch a "backup" dvd using dvdshrink/anydvd, etc.

I even found posts about using Vobblanker to fix these 'bad cells'. These, of course, don't help me much so far, as making a backup dvd is not the same as ripping/converting for iPod.

BTW, the 'Nicky pages' link didn't work for me.

Any other ideas/solutions? I can't be the only person trying to get Wedding Crashers onto my iPod.

RipIt4Me automates the process using multiple programs to get around the bad cells, probably doing the same thing as Vobblanker. What you are going to be doing is basically making a backup of the DVD that is "fixed" that you will use to rip your movie for your iPod. This backup can either be burned to a DVD or saved as a file on your computer you can piont your ripper to.

Did you try using RitIt4Me on that DVD? Also use one of the other softwares to convert the movie after ripping like 3GP Converter

Okay, I used RipIt4Me tonight - which, as you know, uses DVD shrink. I then took the .vob file and used my converter (Super) to convert it. The audio is STILL out of synch. Same spot, around the 14, 15 minute mark the audio just gets way out of synch.

Note that I am trying to do the R rated version off of the Uncorked dvd...not sure if that has anything to do with it. This is really p@$#ing me off. I can not figure this movie out.

Update: I finally tried something new. I ripped the R rated version off of the Uncorked dvd using DVD Shrink, then used the 'burn with DVD Decrypter' option to burn a backup dvd. It played FINE. I then ripped the newly made dvd using Decrypter and converted the .VOB file using Super. Didn't work, the audio is STILL off. This is SERIOUSLY ####ing me off.

I've even tried other ripping/converting software and it does the EXACT same thing! Can anyone help???

For Windows...

Try AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter. AnyDVD is a commercial product, but it's well worth the money and has 21 day trial.

AnyDVD runs as a combination of an application and a device driver filter that attaches to the XP CD/DVD driver, in the same way CD/DVD burning software does. When the AnyDVD app isn't running it's pass-thru, when running it strips any copy protection from Audio CD's, DVD's, BluRay & HD-DVD discs at the kernel level, so applications accessing the drive actually see a completely unprotected / region free disc.

A nice plus is the the ElbyCDIO interface it installs also allows you run to DVD Decrypter without admin rights.

DVD's that caused every ripper I tried to crash on disc insert, rip perfectly with AnyDVD pre-filtering the content.
