I heard they are worth the price (4p or s). Personally, I have Shure E2.
I had the ER-6's and returned them. The mid was great but they had no bass response at all. And I'm not a bass-head by any stretch.
To me the iPod just couldn't drive them. The 4Ps are more suited to the iPod's power, so if you can fork out the cash, do so by all means.
One thing, the isolation on these things is amazing. You can't hear any outside noise. So bewarned.

Thanks for the input. Just wanted to make sure my money was being well spent.
I haven't had the opportunity to listen to any ER-6s, but I can tell you that you will be quite pleased with the full, detailed and balanced sound you'll get from the ER-4Ps w/ iPod. I love mine.

Okay, getting ready to plunk down some cash on new earphones, and have pretty much narrowed my search down to Etymotic ERs due to the overwhelmingly good reviews.
Now, the question is, which one, the ER-4P, or ER-6? Anyone listened to both have an opinion? Are the 4Ps worth double the price of the 6s?
