Problem With Album Artist Settings

Hi,

I recently converted a bunch of tracks from wma to aac for my iTunes music library. The albums are sepperated because of the artists being different. Instead of grouping them together as a compliation, I would like to group them together as a single cd by that certain artist. I do this by setting the album artist. It works however the order of the songs are screwed up. Here is an example:

So, how would I be able to get the songs in numeric order? Thanks!

You're almost there. Album Artist should be "3 Doors Down" on ALL tracks.
Then Artist can differ on individual tracks, such as track five's "3 Doors Down/Bob Seeger"

I just looks like you have the list sorted by "Artist".

Essin

Could be. But that could also be the Album Artist field. The screenshot doesn't show.

Hmm...The Album Artist is 3 Doors Down on all tracks, however, it is still showing up that way. The music is also sorted by artist and not album, but that is how I usually view my music, and I have done this before. I just reconverted the music this time and for some reason I am having trouble. What should I do?

Thanks for you help so far!

Just sort by Album or Album Artist instead

I prefer to sort using "Album by Artist" instead. It keeps all the artists in alphabetical order (by "Album Artist" if there is one, otherwise just by "Artist"), and each artist's albums are sorted alphabetically within their section. "Album by Year" does the same thing except it groups each artist's albums by "Year" instead of alphabetically, but I don't have Year info for all of my tracks so I just use the first one. [Edit: To sort by "Album by Artist" or "Album by Year" you click on the "Album" tab and it will cycle through the three options. Click the arrow on the tab to reverse the sort order.]

Thanks! I feel so dumb, I can't believe I skipped over that. Thanks a lot!
