Ipod keeps restarting ! Any help please ?
So i let my friend use my ipod he used it with his itunes. When i got it back my computer wouldnt recognize it anymore. I tried using a different program EphPod and everything worked. When i started the program it said something was wrong with the file directories so i just clicked ok fix. I disconnected the ipod and now it keeps on restarting. The apple logo will show up and i hear a click then it just shuts off and repeats over and over until the battery dies out. I connected it back to the computer once it died and it'll show a battery sign but windows doesnt detect it anymore. When i try and turn it on the same thing happens it just restarts. Anyone have any ideas ? thanks
ps. i have a 30g video ipod |

try a reset of the ipod - press and hold the menu and centre buttons for 10 seconds, while plugged into the pc - leave it connected for a few hours to charge.

I had a similar problem. My iPod wouldn't switch itself on and kept continually resetting itself when I tried doing so.
Try starting your iPod in Disk Mode, reset your iPod (Centre + Menu) & straight away press and hold Centre + Play. The timing of this is crucial, you need to get Centre + Play pressed just as your iPod starts kicking back into life once you've reset it. Once in disk mode the iPod should be recognised by your PC, try reloading firmware using iTunes 7 and see how it goes... |

iPod keeps reseting
I have been researching this problem for hours on end today. My iPod 5thG 120 GB resets itself every time it is connected to the computer. When it is disconnected from the computer you can use it and scroll through everything but it has nothing on it, no music, pictures, videos, nothing. But when you go to the settings it says that all the space is used up by "other" (the orange color). My computer will not recognize the iPod when it is connected in regular mode but it will recognize it as E:\ when it is in disk mode. The only problem is I cannot format it using the regular format tool on windows or HP USP Format Tool. It says it is copyrighted. And the windows format tool says it can't be formatted. I have run the manual diagnostic check myself and everything seems fine. I just need to know how to fix it. I have restarted my computer with it plugged in I have started iTunes with it plugged in I have also run the Ipod Updater 2006-03-23 and it says "Invalid iPod service version." So I think I am on my last few resources here which are open it up myself and disconnect the hard drive for a while and plug it back in or send in the iPod to get it replaced. Please Help.
