That's very cool.. nice vehicle as well.
Very cool. We're still waiting for them to do that with their Infinitis.
Pete
I have an 06 with Sirius sat radio.
will this override the satelite radio? can i have both ipod and sat?
It works with the sat radio also. You just need an additional cable, the iPod adapter supports two devices.
Yes the Ipod adapter will work with vehicles equipped with SAT as well, you just have to unplug the IPOD to get it to revert back to SAT radio.
It is available for almost any model Nissan so, I am sure Infiniti will work as well, but we have not tried it yet.
So does it show the song list/playlists on the 7" LCD or u hafta look at the iPod screen?
Hey All!!!
I just installed my new ipod kit from yournissanparts.com into my 2005 Nissan Murano S and I love it!! The sound is awesome and the installation was a breeze thanks to "gquiring"s post. I would of never looked in the back for the cable!
Anyways the kit came with all the cables and converter box but no instructions. It came with a piece of paper I believe for the dealership installation on account it directed you to a website or network called ASIST.NET. Again, thank you gquiring !!!
Anyways I routed the cable and box under the back seat and ran the ipod cable up through the center storage console. The cable was to short to fit in the glove box and I didn't feel comfortable retrieving the ipod from under the passanger seat whenever I wanted to take it with me. Having it in the center console makes it real easy to retrieve and it is protected!
Here are some pics of the finished product.

Jay,
Do you have the BOSE 6-disc head unit? I have a 2005 SE with the BOSE 6-disc without the NAV (with SAT although I don't use it) so I too have the amber display. I got my parts from nissan.autowebaccessories.com (999U7-VR000 for the IPOD Interface and 999U7-VS001). The cable next to my spare tire (which I assume is the SAT cable you guys are talking about) has a much smaller connector than the cable/harness I recieved. I'm confused? Any help is greatly appreciated...
The cable is behind the rear seat on the drivers side. Fold down the seat and pickup the carpet between the fold. This is what my kit looked like:
gquiring, Thanks! It works awesome. Last but not least... how did you go about getting the Ipod cable into the center console. I saw the rubber fitting to clean up a hole if I need to drill one, but I don't really know where to drill. Did you have to remove the cup holders for the back seat? Again, I appreciate the help....
Nate, Jay installed his in the console, I installed mine under the drivers seat. I have too much junk in my console so I opted for an easier location.
I just noticed at the yournissanparts.com site that it says that the "(iPod mounts in Rear Cargo Area)". What's up with that? I'd want it in the center console at the very least.
Also, my Murano is a 2003 but it does have the 6 CD changer and a button on the head unit labled SAT. So, will the factory unit work with my Murano? Any downsides? (I don't have satellite radio now.)
Thanks much!

I bought the iPod cable and box from YourNissanParts to allow my iPod to be controlled from the Bose radio. The Murano 06 also comes standard with a 7" LCD display and the iPod shows the song and artist names on that display.
The car is pre-wired for Satellite radio which makes the install a breeze. You just fold down the back seat, pickup the flap and there is the cable to plug-in the box. I routed the iPod cable under the seat, then under the floor mat to the driver side seat. The iPod sits under the driver seat. The cable was not long enough to route to the glove box.
You press the Radio button to toggle through AM/FM and then iPod/XM. You use the Cat/Folder button to select the iPod menus. The Seek button acts as the enter key. The tuning knob allows you to quickly scroll through the song names etc...
The only negative is the random selection is reset every time you turn the ignition off. The manual documents that. I don't know why they decided to make it work that way. Every time you start your car you have to go through the menus to enable random play.
The sound quality is excellent. No RF here, it's direct audio into the Bose system.
It even comes with a nice black pouch to house your iPod. My car has black carpet so it's blends well.
The kit from Nissan (mail order) costs about $200 with shipping. The part #'s are 999U7-VS000 (Harness Type B) and 999U7-VR002 (iPod adapter).
