May 9, 2006 and the name of the album is Stadium Arcadium. On Amazon it is priced at $21.98 so it does sound like it will be a dual disc. With a name like Stadium Arcadium it sounds like it may be a live album.

Kiedis announced the first single to be a track titled Dani California (where "Dani" is the same character from their last debut single, 'By the Way' and was the unnamed "teenage bride with a baby inside" in the modern rock song "Californication". "Dani", according to Kiedis, is a representation of every girl that he's come across in his life).
Kiedis later spoke to MTV News about the album, saying that it has "######edly painful funk" and some songs that are just "straightout dirty funk". He also alluded to the fact that the Peppers' more melodical sounds as heard on Californication (1999) and By The Way (2002) will be present as well on the album.
As for the 13 tracks left off of the original 38 track trilogy, Kiedis has noted that there are plans to release them as bonus tracks on albums distributed to the numerous store chains.
sorry should have researched earlier, but for anyone who cares heres some info i found, its not going to be a live album, and i think it will be a good clash of the different styles of the chilis music all on one album

I hate hearing recorded live albums/songs..It takes the quality away, and it doesn't have that same..vibrant feel.
Can't wait for this album. No it's not a live album. I've got tickets to see them play Earl's Court this summer.
Its a double album, they wanted to release it as three albums over a long time, but when they realised they ahd to eb 6 months apart, they decided to just make a double album

I can't wait. I'm angry about the tracks specific to certain stores though. I read that as "Extra tracks that fans everywhere will download illegally."
I really don't understand that post, iMacc...
I'm not saying I will download them of course, I'm just saying... Other people will download them. I'll just listen to them online or with Rhapsody and decide which CD is best of the ones they release.
