So, found some more info in iTunes. I decided to write up a quick guide on how to see the images for yourself.

1) To see the graphics, ctrl click iTunes->show package contents/ Contents/ Resources-> iTunes.rsrc

2) Click once on the file and hit command + D.

3) Drag iTunes copy.rsrc to the desktop.

4) While still in the resources folder, open the folder titled English.lproj .

5) Highlight the "Localized.rsrc" file and hit Command + D and drag Localizedcopy.rsrc to the desktop.

6) Next, download the Resorcerer 2.4.1 Demo http://www.mathemaesthetics.com/DemoPage.html (Or any other Resource viewing App) .

7) In the application, locate the iTunescopy.rsrc and Localizedcopy.rsrc files now on your dektop and use the ID #s in my picture to locate them in Resorcerer. Hope this helps

Thats an ugly phone...

drmmrlikeskinny

ugly and small

topdog849

no ####in way im gunna buy that, but good job on finding it.

Er I really don't think that's the actual phone. It's just an icon that is instantly recognizeable as a mobile phone so you can easily find it in itunes. Therefore Apple don't have to make thousands of icons if other manufacterers want to use itunes syncing software on their phones.

cpn.luckycharms

Dude, dont lie, you got that off of engadget.com yesterday.

Its an icon...

shaund316

yer it's an icon, like the way my phone in windows doesnt actually come up as the real phone, just an icon

well I'm guessin the author of this topic was using this as proof that the phone was imminent, not as an actual image, so it doesnt matter much lol

Is this the iPod phone though?

Apparently the pictures appeared in two presentations made by Apple, and in the second the phone is actually listed as being the ROKR, which is the supposed iTunes phone. Imo, it's grotesquely ugly and i can't see how on earth that scroll wheel is gonna work. Its probably just a mock up though - it's not Apple's style.

i guess the author misled us with his topic, saying that its a picture of the ipod phone when really he's only saying that the ipod phone be soon be available because of this phone icon on the itunes. i want my 2 minutes back for having to read and post on this thread! j/k.

celebi23

Sorry for not saying that it was an icon.

wOoT! Found some more stuff in the iTunes.rsrc file using Themepark.

iTunes/Contents/Resources/iTunes.rsrc

Found the Phone icon I posted before as well as the phone icon as it appears in the source column in iTunes. Found 2 more iPhone pics (credit to Appleinsider) & almost all of the text in the Localized.rsrc file that mentions the iPhone. Oh, and i found placeholders to what appears to be another upcoming iPod. Also found what appears to be a purchased Movie clip icon. Not sure if that's with the clips you get with some albums already

kevmakara

Yea, I only read the o/p message and instatly understood his meaning. Really, it's not that confusing. Cool though. I wonder if it will be worth buying though. I'm gonna be needing a new phone really soon so... *crosses fingers that this doesn't turn out to be crap*

Found a Hugh Source Icon of the "Purchase Movies" icon. Added the picture names so people can see them for themselves by using Themepark

Thanks for the info, celbi23!

The reason there are so many conflicting ideas as to what "the iTunes phone" will look like is that there will be no iTunes phone at all. The idea is not to make one phone that can act like a sort-of iPod, but to create a version of iTunes that can be ported onto Motorolla phones.
