Don't you just hate it when your exiting new product shows up in a magazine before it has even been announced? (i.e. Palm LifeDrive)

Anyway, in the new issue of Sync magazine there is a full-page ad for the inMotion iM7 speakers. This unit looks pretty sweet with its built-in subwoofer and S-video output!

Wow! And with a wireless remote. This may be something.

The same ad appears in the latest issue of Playlist.

LOL That pic reminds me of my stereo that i have in my Bedroom. It's a JVC Kaboom that i bought about 5years ago.

"Kaboom "

lol, that is a horrible name for an audio product... that would be something like

"Distortionator”

Ouch I heard this product was $429. I have my doubts about this thing besting the iFi.

EDIT: never mind, it looks like its only 249.95.. still a lot of cash.

wytwolf

No it was called kaboom because of the bass it produces. It have one dial for volume and one dial for the subwoofers.

It's not the most powerfull stereo, but it gets the job done.

Just bought one today. $250 and worth every penny. Much better than Bose.

ericboo

Xaggie,

Did you pick up in a store? I was almost ready to get the Bose until I saw this.

007

I think its a great move by altec to counter bose, and there is no question they have done that, but I’m not sure why anyone would get this over the smaller and more powerful 2.0's unless they REALLY wanted batteries and they were willing to carry 8lb's of them.

scogold

Yea this thing I hear is great and better than the Bose system. I found it at a local Costco for 189.99$ and will try and pick it up for the holiday season. Look around for good prices, because this has great reviews out there for it.

xaggie

I did buy at the Apple Store.

I got the IM7 about 2 weeks ago at Costco for $189. The Apple store wanted $249. I compared the sound at the Apple store against the Bose and Klispch. The IM7 was the only speaker with adjustable bass & treble - even adjustable from the remote. Also, the IM7 has rear connectivity for other things, even an "S" jack to connect to your TV for video and photo slide-shows. For my listening ears, the Bose and Klipsch both sounded very good, However when compared with the IM7 and it's bass adjustability, the IM7 won out for me.

I just saw and heard the new apple iPod hi-fi this afternoon. It sounded great, it will compete with the Bose, and it looks better in person than in the promotional photos. I didn't have a chance to compare it much with the other speakers as the sales rep was busy, and other folks were looking at them. It should sell okay, I am sure Apple did their marketing homework. But $350 ??

mdmania

yeah, perhaps 299.00 would have been the appropriate price for the Hi-Fi. But I have to really hear for myself to make sure it does worth 349. If it does produce a good sound and the convinience I'm looking for, I might be sold. Will have to see and to demo one soon here in my town.

hunybee

can anyone tell me if they are having a problem with the iM7 I bought it and i have the 30gb video ipod and it freezes after 3 songs are played , i love the sound quality of the iM7 but man o man its frustrating that my i Pod freezes.
