Do not use your new ipod shuffle until you buy some sort of case for it first. Just in the first day i put a small (but noticable) dent into the top left hand corner. I am very ####ed and i wish somebody would have told me what i am telling you now before i used my shuffle. BUY A CASE or u'll be ####ed too!!!!

?

i've been using my shuffle for 2 weeks and i have dropped it twice without and problems or dents. theres really no way it could dent. maybe you could scratch some plastic off or something, but i dont see how it could dent. theres no hollow space, and the outside isnt a plastic that would dent, it would crack.

Currahee474

I have no idea how it got a dent! i did not take it anywhere with me just listened to it at home for a couple of hours. Maybe i dropped it accidentally but there is a dent in it.

zip22

weird. is it on the flat surfaces(front or edge)? or on the corner between the two?

Currahee474

no on the front serface on the very top on the left hand side on the corner edge there is a dent which is sort of flat. small but noticable.

Scratch it up. Scuff it up. Let it get dented.

This is NOT an iBrick. It's not a dainty, pay-attention-to-me type of product. It's a cigarette lighter. No, it's not a nice ligher. It's a Bic lighter. Pocketable. Loseable.

It's software, remember, not hardware. It's a delivery device for iTunes. Be dainty with *that*. Be very careful with iTunes. Dote on it. Make it feel special. But the Shuffle? Scratch it up, quickly.

If you've got a baby, you know what I mean. You care about the quality of the formula in the bottle. You don't care about the plastic bottle itself.

egg-zactly. The shuffle is as close to "disposable" as we are going to get for a mp3 player.

toomuch

maybe this doesn't relate, but I didn't even know I could put music from a cd into my itunes music library, until I bought the shuffle, and it says so in the users guide. Funny, how when I downloaded itunes, I didnt see any such notice, so, I don't buy too many tunes now, just borrow cd's from my friends, download the songs I want

punk_r0x

I wish 99 bucks was "disposable" to me. I'm sure careful not to scuff my shuffle all up.

baggss

Please tell me your kidding....

[zerophase]

how do u dent it???

iBop

Denting may not be a big problem for most, but the darn thing sure scratches
up . Fast.

I hadnt had it for more than a day, and I noticed many small scratches. Might as well have used sandpaper.

Nevertheless it is an awesome mightymite, in my sonic universe. Thunbs up!

zerophase:

The Shuffle's housing is a soft, pliable plastic. There is no way to not get a scuff on the glossy surface or a lumpy divot along an edge. It's inevitable that it's going to get dinged, so let it happen and don't sweat it at all.

Sort of like a keyfob with door open/close buttons on it; looks great in the showroom, but the reality is that it's going to sit in your pocket, rub against keys, and look like crap in six months. Style points? No. Ah, but pure functionality? Yup. Boatloads.

Dropped my shuffle at school. There is indeed a noticible dent/chip on the front, upper right hand corner of the device. A bit of a downer at first, but eh, again, as boltjames said, functionality is still fine.

LazyiPoder

plastic tends to scratch easy. plus as said, the shuffle isn't a player that you are going to stay up all night polishing or something. It's portable. most portable things, don't stay scratch free for long. As for the fact that you dented the shuffle, I have no idea how that could happen. There isn't any hollow space inside for it to dent into. I have dropped my shuffle before and it never dented. Maybe got a slight scratch, but no dent. Does your work ok? Maybe its faulty....
