My car setup! (Warning, BIG PICS)

Alright, so I've had an ipod since the very very beginning. Waay waaay back. I finally upgraded to the 30 gig (after filling my 5, 10, and 20), and decided it was time for a car kit, i was sick of waiting for someone to release a good full install kit, so i made one, with the help of one of my friends: total cost: $63. Parts:

That belkin power adapter with line out: $40
A cell phone holder: $8
Tape adapter (which I already had...): $15

We managed to hide all the wires, and one of these days i'm going to order an in-line FM-Modulator... but pictures speak much louder than words, so here they are:

My car:

Empty setup:

Ready to go:

Wire goes bye bye:

The hidden goods:

The tape adapter:

Hmm, I guess they won't show my pics (must be too big), but anyway, the thing I've been trying to figure out is this: there MUST be SOME WAY to pause/play the ipod when i turn the car off or on-- anyone done this?

God I miss my Volvo 740. It was a superb car to drive - the only problem I had with it was that it cost about ?3 in petrol just to look at it.

Nice setup by the way.

Great install.

Question, anyone knows if I could just buy one of those magnetic holder for phone where the magnet got double-sided tape on the car and the phone has a small metal piece.

I am thinking of using that to hold the iPod. I am worry that the magnet would basically erase stuff on the hard-disk, anyone knows if the casing shield it from external magnetic fields?

Appreciate any input.

Question How did you power the belkin

This looks great!!!

I am trying to get a similar setup in my jeep.

How did you power the belkin adapter?? I have heard of people taking it apart and wiring it direct, instead of plugging into the lighter. However it looks from the pics to be still together?

Thanks!

I removed the car plugin, got one of those 1->2 plug adapters, plugged the belkin into one end, and glued the other in the hole with plastic bonding stuff

that is the link to my car, evertything is hardwired, from the charger to the audio cables. The mount (cell holder) is simply held up with a piece of aluminum in between the dash board and the sterio cover. if anyone wants more pics (side view or hardwiring) let me know and i can take more.
