UK customers are not important enough to get the free bundled case!
this sucks!
US customers get a case bundled with the new 5th gen ipods.. see here: http://www.apple.com/ipod/specs.html UK customers dont.. see here: http://www.apple.com/uk/ipod/specs.html talk about rip off britain! not only do apple charge UK customers more for thier iPods in the first place, we are treated like second class citizens by not getting the case. im p!ssed off now... i may even write a letter of complaint and sent it to infinite loop... probably just an error on the site - it's also missing on the AU and CA store and i can't imagine that they would only include cases for US iPods.

spoken to someone at the apple store who said the "pack-ins" for different territories can differ.
he also gave me the address so i can send a letter of complaint: FAO Management Apple Store Europe Apple Computers International Hollyhill industrial estate Holyhill Cork Ireland and if you want it to go straight to apple's worldwide headquarters: FAO Steve Jobs- CEO <this bit was added by me, i doubt steve himself would read my letter, but i can try..> Apple Computers 1 Infinite Loop Cupertino, CA 95014 Dinger

Or you can realize that the case Apple supplies is next to useless, and that you should buy a third party case anyway. But you are right, paying more for the same iPod I can get is a slap to the face.
Buy from the US I guess?

but do they get a £21 discount coupon in the US, i dont think so, net price for the ipod darling £197.83, not sure where the .83 comes from but i aint complaining

The new UK iPod was always coming with a case, it has been listed as coming with a case from day one, on the apple store.

Guys, lets get our "print screen" buttons ready in case Apple suspiciously update the store websites once people recieve their 5G iPods...
OK, go to the apple store and click the ipod 5G picture as if you were to purchase it. There, clearly under "Whats Included" is: Quote:
If they don't supply (but I feel they will) the cases then we clearly have a case of false representation. |

I have picked up the same thing with the Australian site.
When viewing the 5G in the "Store" I get this listed as "in the box": In the Box • iPod • Earbud headphones • USB 2.0 cable • Dock adapter for use with Universal Dock • Case • Quick Start guide • CD with iTunes for Mac and Windows and features guide But outside of the store in the specs it does not mention the case, just Earbud headphones, USB cable. |

thanks for others pointing me back to the store page, i didnt actually look at the specs when i ordered...
