Heh, pretty cool. Seems it would compromise the wonderfully compact size of the iPod though. Still a cool mod though.

That's awesome, dude. I just hope you have a remote for the iPod, because it'd be a real pain in the butt to change the tracks (opening n' closing the lid and all...)

Can you show us some photos of the lid closed/other angles?

At first I thought it would take forever because I kept trying to tear out this huge piece of plastic with some plyers lol. But then i just cut through about half the thickness of the plastic with a exacto knife, then bent out the plasctic with the plyers: this took alot of the time off. But that was the easy part lol.

I had to use a drill to make the opening so I could charge it. This sounds easy but it wasnt, the hole wasnt really in the right place to start out with, so I had to file a lot to get the charger cable to fit.

Last I filed all the sharp edges.

Total time took about 3-4 hours (most of it was filing to get everything fitting right)

Wouldn't it be pretty hard plug in a right-angle terminated headphone plug?

I found my remote and somehow squished all the excess wire in the cd player, that solves the headphone jack problem. Ill post some pics later
