Welcome to iLounge.
You can use a program like SharePod to export your music to your computer.

Thanks for for the link to Sharepod (and no flames telling bbedo to go search the threads)
I was just thinking the exact same thing as bbedo, so I finally downloaded the app. After attempting to deal with external hard drive backups, ripping CD's, trying to import tracks onto another pc without titles coming over, all the de-authorizing and re-authorizing nonsense
, this app is absolutely perfect (and heck, it's free).
Thanks and cheers.

Hello everyone!
I realize this topic may have been covered before, but the threads I found on it were several years old, so I'm posting in case things have changed.
My laptop computer containing my itunes library completely fried on me last night. My ipod (touch, 2nd gen) was not connected to it, and still has all of my music and is working fine. I'm afraid that the library on the computer itself is gone, however. When I purchase my new computer, is there a way to populate iTunes with the music on my ipod, so that I don't have to re-rip so many CDs again and lose ratings and play statistics?
Thank you for your help!!
