When I got my classic I locked the volume at a certian level and i forgot the code to unlock it . I listen to alot of Podcasts at work so i plug the ipod up to a stereo but the sound quality on a few of the podcasts are kinda low and i can't get the volume up any higher . I tried to reset my setting and that did not help , any advice ?

Unfortunately, the only way to reset the password is to restore your iPod. This will erase everything on it. I'm not aware of any programs that can go around this.

as long as i have eveything on my itunes that would not matter would it ? How do i restore the ipod ?

When you plug in your ipod; on the main screen there is a button that says "restore"

Yes - as long as all your stuff is in iTunes (the ONLY way to go!), you are good. Do a restore as reneipod noted & then re-sync the iPod to iTunes. Only problem is the time it takes to re-sync (just had to do my 110Gb library on my 2007 160Gb Classic - took about 24 hours to do the whole sync).
