some films and some music videos play fine but other will not play

one of three things happens;


1. Movie or music video plays fine
2. "This movie could not be played"
3. Screen is green but the audio can be heard

some films or music videos are bought through iTunes and some have been transferred from my pc

all play ok on my pc

any suggestions and/or advice would be welcome

Go into your iPod Touch > Settings > Video and make sure the settings there are correct. See if changing it to widescreen (on/off) or NTSC/PAL will help.

tried all combinations but still no joy

Can you find out which videos are the ones having problems on the iPod? See if it's the ones bought from iTunes or the ones from your PC. Did you convert them properly using a third party software?

I'm seeing this same thing also; my new Touch 32GB will not play the files that will still play on my older first gen tough and my old iPhone 3G. Apple has changed something or there is a bug because I see this issue on quite a few forums with no solution available as of yet. Even exchanging for a new one doesn't seem to help. That new Zune is looking pretty good right about now....

i have checked and it is only the videos and films that i bought from iTunes that are the problem

also it seems to play some playlist in a random order and some of the tracks it wont play at all!
