I have a new 3G 64GB touch and am about to go on a long haul flight and want to watch video for most of the flight.

So I'll need a way of extending the battery life and that will still allow a headphone cable to remain connected.

To ad to the complication I need to either buy this from a shop, or order online with a next day delivery option [left it a bit late].

Ideas?

Expensive, but I presume that 2G will work with 3G?

That should work for the 3rd Generation as well. Don't see anything different. There are a bunch of these "battery chargers" available. You might want to confirm that it will allow you to play your music while it's being used...which it should. The iPod Touch usually allows you to listen to your music while charging.

I've been a big fan of the ones that use common batteries, so that I can bring along a stack of them.

Unfortunately, the new requirements for the Touch need some current across the data line, so a number of my chargers don't work any longer (and this may cause problems if you get something that doesn't specifically say it works with the Touch/iPhone). It's about 50/50 on my chargers whether they'll do the trick or not.

I DID manage to find a USB accessory tip that seems to bridge to the other USB pins required to start charging, but that wouldn't help you in one day! For that short notice, I think you'll need to go with what you can find that has the best shot at working, and I think the juicepack you point to would work.
